Fix-a-Form International conference brings together label printing elite

Printing and packaging experts Fix-a-Form International/ Denny Bros is offering other companies the machine development expertise that put it ahead of the rest.

The Bury St Edmunds-based group has its own engineering wing, Db Engineering, with 30 years’ experience in designing manufacturing and setting up production machinery. Denny Bros invented the Fix-a-Form® booklet label in the late1970’s and now has an established network of 20+ licensees covering over 50 territories worldwide locally. All machinery supplied exclusively to the licensee network that produce labels found on products from Marmite to weed killer, are designed, manufactured and assembled in-house and installed by their engineers.

Fix-a-Form engineering manager Alan Bonnett said “We’re a highly skilled engineering company and want to offer those skills to others. If you have an idea and think ‘where can I get this done?’ or want to talk to someone about whether it is feasible, that’s the sort of thing we can offer.”

Group managing director Andrew Denny added “We can offer a one-stop shop because we have a design capability, a machine building capability and we can develop the control systems. We also have the experience of intellectual property. That is a minefield, but we’ve mapped the minefield.”

The machine is tailored to suit the needs of the licensees market in terms of product types and volumes. Db Engineering staff also work on refurbishing older machines around the world and developing the next generation of equipment.

The latest versions can even be linked via the internet so staff can help operators anywhere in the world and perform remote diagnostics. Mr Denny said “We are taking the service we have offered to our licensing partners for years and offering it to other customers.”
