Pharmaceutical Case Study:
Battlefield medical device label
A medical kit designed for use by army medics in battlefield conditions is now carrying a Fix-a-Form information label.
The over-laminated version of the traditional Fix-a-Form multi-page label was chosen for its durability to combat the moisture and damp associated with normal outdoor use. The manufacturer of the sterile tracheotomy kit was looking for a method of applying a quick reference pictorial guidance of the procedure.
A spokesperson for the company stated: “The Kleer-Format is the ideal product for this life-saving device as it can be opened in an instant to work as a memory aid in field conditions."
The kit is used when a person's upper airway becomes blocked, and provides all of the required components to perform the insertion of an emergency breathing tube. Pictorial instructions are attached to the product as a quick and effective reminder to the medic of the correct procedure.
Stephen Jarrold, Sales & Marketing Director at Denny Bros, explains,
“The Kleer-Format is the ideal product for this life-saving device as it can be opened in an instant to work as a memory aid in field conditions. It's another clear example of how the Fix-a-Form concept can work to excellent effect with medical devices that need to carry clear and precise instructional information. This is the first time a Fix-a-Form leaflet labels has been manufactured for use in battle field situations and we‘re pleased to be of help with the development of such an effective kit for front line use.”
